"With over 70 years in the industry, it's almost impossible to find a company that has more experience than Descente. Each year brings technical advances and innovative new styles, while their quality stays truly "Descente." They've worked hard for their reputation as a top-of the-line ski wear and athlete apparel company, and it shows!"

- Peter Glenn

FACTS ABOUT DESCENTE:

  • Started by Takeo Ishimoto in 1935 (as Ishimoto Shoten)The company logo, over 50 years old, depicts 3 basic skiing techniques - traverse, schuss and side-slip.

  • Descente owns a portfolio of 16 in-house, purchased and licensed brands, among them Descente, Le Coq Sportif, Umbro, Arena (in primarily Japan and the Far East), Marmot and Srixon.

  • In 2002 the company collaborated with Academy Award-winner art director and costume designer Eiko Ishioka in creating the Vortex suits and uniforms, used by the Japanese, Swiss, Spanish and Canadian teams competing in the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The need to make products faster, stronger, smaller and lighter is driving the development of new and enhanced materials with DESCENTE introducing an all-new GRAPHENE shoe!

GRAPHENE is a thin carbon based material stronger than steel, efficiently conducts heat and electricity and is nearly transparent.

To be released later this year, Osaka-based sports apparel company Descente plans to sell the planned heavy-duty sports shoes through its British subsidiary, Inoveight Ltd., under the G-Series brand so that athletes can use them outdoors or in gyms.

I love running and the outdoors and I can't wait to try these!!
