Hey there... you must be thinking of that next outfit inspiration for the coming summer months.
So let's talk about how to wear a Gilet and how to NOT look like a farmer when you wear one.. :)

First - for those who (don't) know, a "gilet is a sleeveless jacket or vest. Traditionally it was made to offer an extra layer of warmth outdoors but in today's streets, look no further for extra layer of "fashion" that can be zipped (or buttoned on).
DO's and How-To:
A Gilet is a STATEMENT - much like a beautiful tie, stole or pair of retro sunglasses. In cooler months, sliding one under a de-constructed jacket offers warmth (not bulk) and essential flair. In summer, my FAVE to see is the GILET with t-shirt
Use the Gilet to dress DOWN a structured or classic look
Use a Gilet to add colour or depth or pattern or depth (depending on the fabric) - think TWEED in fall or light KNIT in SUMMERIn connection with the above... be appropriate to the SEASON. Denim is a catchall however even light down in summer can look like a a flack jacket or life vest.Dress up your denim or chambray shirt with a GiletThanks for stopping by and and comments are appreciated! :) BFN
