Seasons Greetings Everyone!
This month I had the pleasure of finding another hidden gem here in Tokyo's Sumida-ku (district) = the IKIJI PROJECT.
For local CHIC and a bit away from the commercial, this Design Collective features four craftsmans, each specializing in their given product that have united to propel a FRESH new brand to the public!
CONCEPT
The word IKI has several meanings, in meeting with the IKIJI Team, IKI means 'STYLISH, CHIC, SOPHISTICATED" yet at the same time it can also be interpreted as one's "MOTIVATION, SPIRIT, HEART".
The IKIJI PROJECT believes and promotes these unifying themes into four distinctives lines of apparel: KNITWEAR, SHIRTS, LEATHER, JACKETS and BOTTOMS.

Located in Sumida Ward in Tokyo, the IKIJI PROJECT along with other artisans of MONOZUKURI (means "making things) dedicate their SPIRIT and daily life to raise the local brand power.
Year-round, festivals, workshops and events celebrate the ART, science and CRAFT of making things.
Take some time to visit IKIJI PROJECT SHOWROOM / STORE and the Sumida Ward.
There are many inspiring museums, and narrow fabric mills producing beautiful textile products.
