Blue-Collar clothes are like good COMFORT FOOD on a Sunday afternoon...
.. we are NOT talking AFTER CHURCH Brunch because that means usually getting dressed up.... I mean that comfortable pair of thick (hiking socks), your FAV pair of jeans, nice boots for the Fall rain, and a jacket that is ALL YOU!
My Choice... the vintage Railroad engineer jacket. An unlikely choice but hear me out...
WAY BACK in the day, the coolest job a young man could have was being a locomotive or railroad engineer and an honest day's work meant "walking the line" of iron. Rain, snow, or whatever... if it needed to come through inland, bet your a$$ these MEN were hauling it.
I LOVE THAT - Honest clothes for honest living... I use to hit the local workmans' outlet shops to look for clothes on the CHEAP and that was different than the rest.
If you come across what you think is a Vintage Railroad jackets,
look for these features to be sure:
3 pocket design with 2 lower (large) patch pockets and single left side upper watch pocket with side entry
Some have a pencil slot and/or change buttons
If you are lucky, the patina (wear & tear of the material
Denim or seersucker material (or likely denim to stand the test of time)
I also love the deep pockets for my keys and Cell. (I still need my Tote sometimes for the other gear that I need (iPad, billfold, etc)
JUST SAYIN'....!
Thanks for stopping by and please comment on the Blog or the site!
I would love to hear what you think! :)
